Pikey Peak trek takes you right into Sherpa homeland which is the Solukhumbu or Lower Everest. You will emerge yourself in the local culture with spending a night at a local Sherpa home stay. Also a visit to the local school and the nun monastery of Thupten Choling should not be missed.
Because this area is hardly visited by trekkers you will be able to discover authentic Nepal, and have plenty of opportunity to meet the friendly locals. At High Camp you wake up early in the morning to hike for a breathtaking sunrise view from the peak.
From the summit you have magnificent views of the snowy peaks of the Himalayas. Subsequently ,Sir Edmund Hillary stated that Pikey Peak offers the most beautiful view for Mount Everest.
There can find 5 different types of Rhododendrons that bloom in the forest in April/May. This trek is also rich in Himalayan flora and fauna etc. You could see yaks grazing around Peak .
The sight of the impressive mountains all through the trek is amazing, specially at dawn and dusk. If you have the chance to enjoy this trek in the blooming season, you will be amazed by the view of wild orchids and Mongolia blossoms welcoming you all along your way.
Winter is the not the best time for a Pikey hike, but the views can be stunning especially after snowfall blankets the mountains in white.
After major snowfall last month, Pikey saw dozens of Nepali youngsters roughing it out on a camping trip.
