The Everest Base Camp trek, a very well known mountain trek, starts at the upper Phakding and follows the Dudh Kosi valley which climbs up to the Sherpa capital of Namche, a bustling bazaar that’s a junction for trekkers, the local Sherpa and expedition teams en route to the mighty Mt. Everest. All along this part of the trail, villages are interspersed with magnificent forests of rhododendron, magnolia and giant firs. In both the early autumn and late spring, the flowers on this portion of the trek make it the kind of walk you will remember for a long, long time.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu-Lukla-Phakding:
Departure from Kathmandu in morning to airport and fly to Lukla, from Lukla begins walking to Phakding. It will take about 3/4 hours to reach there. It is in 2652m high and in the bank of river.

 

Day 02: Phakding-Namche Bazar:
Starting walking after the breakfast, passing Monju. Jorsale crossing river, climbing and 4/5 hours reach to Namche. Namche Bazar is in 3440m height and a big place viewing of Mt Everest. Lhotse – Nuptse.

 

Day 03: Namche Bazar- rest day:
In this day, will be good to take rest for acclimatization. May walk couple of hours to Khumjung village.

 

Day 04: Namche Bazar-Tengboche (3867m):
Leaving hotel after the breakfast and the trail rises to the Saddle to the east. The trail continuous through forests of blue pine and rhododendrons, passing below the villages and through the forest. The Trail climbs past the prayer wheels through very pleasant forest, with occasional impressive views of Kangtega. About 4/4.30 hours.

 

Day 05: Tengboche-Pheriche:
Leaving hotels after the breakfast looking for blood pheasants feeding near Tengboche in the morning the viewing from Tengboche are spectacular; from here the trail heads and descends slightly past the Nursery. The spectacular views of Ama Dablam descend short distance to the bridge over the Khumbu Khola and crossing to the west bank to Reach Pheriche (3252m) in some 4/5 hours and 9 km from Tengboche.

 

Day 06: Pheriche-Lobuche:
Continue north from Pheriche along the flat past the Yorsa. It takes 1.30/2 hours to reach Dughla from Pheriche. After crossing another stream of melt water the trail heads north east of Lobuche (4900m). It will take all together 3.30/4 hours.

 

Day 07: Lobuche-Kala Pathar-lobuche:
There is shelter beyond Lobuche. It is possible to use Lobuche as a Base to climb to Kala Pathar and return the same day. You can have Better views of Mt Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse from Kala Pathar(5545m) than Mt. Everest Base Camp.

 

Day 08: Lobuche-Chhukung:
Start walking to Chukung from Lobuche the trail slightly descends to Dingboche. It takes 4/5 hours to reach to Chukung (4734m).

 

Day 09: Chhukung-Dingboche:
Hiking the Chhukung peak (5546m) viewing of incredible Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Island peak. Returning to Chhukung. After lunch moving to Dingboche (4340m) will take 1/1.30 hours.

 

Day 10: Dingboche-Tengboche:
Leaving from hotel/camp to Tengboche after the breakfast. It will Takes 4/4.30 hours to come Tengboche.

 

Day 11: Tengboche-Namche Bazar:
Following the same way to return Namche Bazar and takes 4 hours to get at Namche Bazar.

 

Day 12: Namche Bazar- Lukla:
Descending from Namche to Dudh Kosi Khola and passing Jorsale,Monju, Phakding and camp at Lukla.

 

Day 13: Lukla - Kathmandu:
Fly to Kathmandu transfer to Hotel.
